These terms & conditions apply to the users of our app Free flight variometer and the extended services that the subscription provides. In order to use the app you must firstly agree to these terms. You may not use the app if you do not accept these terms. When you install and use this app you agree to these terms. You understand and agree that we will treat your use of the app as an acceptance of these terms.

We work hard to provide the best app we can and to specify clear guidelines for everyone who uses them. Our app, howerver is provided “as is”, and we make no guarantees

End User License Agreement

We must begin by defining what we understand by data collection. By data collection we refer to the transmission of data outside of your device. Our application collects and stores in an external database the history of purchases made from your device in our store. Every time you buy some additional functionality, Google generates a purchase token that we send to our server along with a number that allows us to associate all purchases made from the same device but, however, does not contain user or device information.

Since Android Marshmallow some actions need explicit permission from the user. With the intent to offer the best service, our app asks the user for these permissions. Any of these permissions can be revoked by the user at any time with the consequent loss of the associated functionalities.

• Permission to know the exact location: This permission is required in order to provide high value-added functionalities as:

  • Estimation of wind speed and direction

  • Waypoint navigation.

  • Flight track recording.

  • Best glide, speed control.

  • Final glide assistant.

• Permission to manage bluetooth connections in case you want to connect to an external module like Bluefly.

• Permission to create a foreground service. The app can run with the screen off and is less prone to be closed by the Android OS in case of resource depletion.

• Permission to access storage. Waypoint files, flight tracks and flight tasks are stored in the folder io.github.flightcom of your device so they can be read/wrote by other apps. For example: Use an IGC file reader app to view your flights. Without this permission, the navigation function will be disabled and the flights won’t be recorded.

• Permission to bypass battery optimizations. Granting this permission to the app you avoid the phone entering in doze mode while the app is running.

Maintenance & Support

The purchase ID that we send to our backend allows us to check with the Google servers that the purchase is valid and there has not been any type of fraud. We then store this purchase id in a database along with other purchases made from the same device so that you can continue to have these features even if you change device. Each of the licenses that are purchased in our store grant new functionalities only on the device from which the purchase is made. That does not mean that if one day you buy a new phone/tablet and want to start using our app, along with the additional features, on the new device you will have to buy them all over again. In fact you will not be able to buy them again. All you can do is remove the old device from our database and transfer the licenses to the new device. This process is simple and free thanks to the fact that we save in our database the purchase history of each device in our store. From this point of view, the data we store is essential to be able to provide you with the service we offer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
